welcome to John Edwards
country
Talent. Hard work. Talent. Determination. Drive. Passion. Desire. Talent...
These talents have brought singer/songwriter John Edwards to Music City to fulfill his musical dreams. And they have earned him a shot at making those dreams come true.
John's latest recording is a 5 song demo of incredible cuts written and sung by this young man, who paints his lyrical and musical canvas with a palette full of colorful emotions: from the red hot fire of love ("There Ought To Be A Lane For Love On The Interstate", "King For A Day"), to the deep blue of love lost but not forgotten ("Every Now And Then", "One Hell Of A Ride") to the black heart of domestic violence and revenge ("Three Sheets To The Wind" - co-written by Troy Martin).
This native of Phoenix, Arizona, started playing guitar and singing at age 14, and songs began to pour out of him not long after. And they're still pouring out...at a breakneck pace, sometimes several a day. During years of paying dues as a construction worker in the desert heat, his guitar was never far away, and every break was a chance to wring another verse, chorus, or bridge out of that beat up six string.
Now driving a taxi cab in Nashville, passengers often remark about that same guitar riding shotgun in the seat beside him. And between fares, he can be found with pen and guitar pick in hand, singing over the din of the two-way radio on the dash.
John produced the demo with Buddy Hyatt (keyboardist for Toto) at Buddy's Hyatt House studio. Vocal overdubs and the mix were engineered by Jason Kyle (who's now producing the new Alan Hall release for Curb Records) at Room With A View in Music Row's UA Tower. The players were Robby Trip (drums), Danny Parks (lead guitar), Pat Seavers (acoustic guitars, steel guitar, banjo), Jim Hyatt (bass), and Buddy on keyboards.
John Edwards is winning over new believers ever day, including BMI's David Preston, who has arranged an upcoming showcase for John at Nashville's famed Exit-In, and the band Lonestar has expressed interest in John's song "Every Now & Then". In the meantime, he can be seen making the rounds at writer's nights...or just look for the tall guy in the white taxi cab with the guitar. Music Industry rides are on the house, but act now...John Edwards just might be in the fast lane headed for success.
